The KERNTec Scientific Days, a newly introduced platform for scientific exchange in nuclear technology, took place from June 13-15, 2023 in Frankfurt am Main. ROBDEKON was there.
In order to promote young scientists in Germany in the field of nuclear technology, the KERNTec Scientific Days were newly launched this year and took place in Frankfurt am Main from June 13-15, 2023. This new platform offers students an insight into current research work and the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts and industry partners.
A highlight of the event was the Science Slam, where various research teams presented their work in entertaining presentations. The team of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sascha Gentes from KIT's Institute of Technology and Management in Construction was also present. With two contributions, this team added to the professional diversity of the program.
The presentation by Alena Wernke, who informed about the development of a closed decontamination chain, attracted particular attention. With her competent presentation of the complex topic, she convinced not only the audience but also the jury and won first place in the Science Slam.
In addition, the event was used to demonstrate the GammaBot live in use for room detection in cooperation with the Hochschule Karlsruhe. Thus, the participants as well as the participating industry partners could impressively convince themselves of the performance of this innovative technology.
